First of all, candidates do not have to be at the meeting during the
election, although it is preferred. You will need a speech though, to
convince the members and officers why they should vote for you.
Requirements to run are minimal. It is preferred that you have attended our
events or general meetings, so you'll know how things are organized and
what you are getting into. We will be training the newly elected officers
next quarter, so you needn't worry if you feel inexperienced.
Here are the positions and some of the responsibilities:
President:
Make the decisions
Assign Tasks
Make sure officers are doing their jobs
- Oversee their duties
- Assist them in any way possible
Coordinate Events with officers and advisors
Lead the weekly meetings
Coordinate agendas for meetings
Register the club and locker in June
Reserve meeting rooms at the end of the quarters
Check mailbox
Vice President:
Coordinate service events
- Arrange sign-ups/rides
- Confirm events with advisors
Track service hours with documentation
Treasurer:
Update budget sheet
Organize Fundraising
Reimburse people
Oversee Recycling
Documentation:
Take meeting minutes
Organize hours log
Maintain listserve
Obtain/compile photos
Manage webpage
Public Relations:
Promote the club
Arrange tabling
Arrange posting of fliers
Create scrapbook
Social/Culture:
Create social activities
Manage IM sports team
Promote culture
Hold reflection discussions about events
All officers:
Attend bi-weekly(flexible) officer meetings
Be present at general meetings when possible
Be a role model for the members
Organize who will buy food/supplies for BD
Assist each other if needed
